Aluminum Pipe Alloys, Strengths, Sizes, and Weights

Not all pipe is made the same. The majority of the rafting industry uses schedule 40 pipe in either 6061 or 6063 alloy. Better Mounts offers this type of pipe, but also thin wall pipe, which is made from a premium aluminum alloy called 7075. This high strength alloy was developed for use in airplanes and offers a significant increase in strength, allowing us to use thinner wall lighter tubes!
